The low density of magnesium alloys has made them attractive, especially for automotive applications which require ecological contributions by saving of resources, i.e. material and energy. However, for a broader use of these materials, a good knowledge of fatigue strength in magnesium alloy weldments is necessary. In this research, we’re trying to develop a methodology for estimating the fatigue life of spot-welded magnesium alloy (AZ31B-H24), while considering different welding parameters and related residual stresses.
