UNDERSTANDING AND SUPPORTING SOCIAL CONNECTIONS AND DIGITAL CONNECTIVITY OF OLDER CANADIANS DURING AND AFTER THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The project, funded by the University of Waterloo's Network for Aging Research, will investigate the roles that digital connectivity and technology have played in supporting the social connections of older Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic. We seek to promote older adults' use of technology to maintain social connections during the pandemic by informing, inspiring, and supporting.

AGEWELL: HEALTH SYSTEMS, PRACTICE, POLICY, AND REGULATORY ISSUES

This project examines current policy and regulatory frameworks and developments that are relevant to the licensing, approval, regulation, reimbursement, and evaluation of new techonologies and innovations resulting from AGE-WELL. Recommendations will be made for how innovation in health technologies for older adults can be accomodated and stimulated within existing policy and regulatory frameworks, as well as how these frameworks might be modified to support safe adoption of promising and effective technologies.
