GET-FACTS funded student Steve Wilcox will be defending his PhD March 30th, 2016 with the University of Waterloo's department of English.
Steve's dissertation develops the concept of embodied invention as heuristics for translating knowledges between bodies, communities, and cultures. In order to make this point effectively, and to demonstrate its applicability to design, a portion of this dissertation is argued through an accompanying videogame called Allergies & Allegories.
Allergies & Allegories was developed with GET-FACTS funding and the GET-FACTS Steering Committee provided valuable feedback to Steve during its development. Going forward, the videogame will provide one piece of Knowledge Translation to emerge from the GET-FACTS project.
Good luck, Steve!
