Internationalization is woven into many elements at Waterloo. With a goal of becoming one of the most internationalized universities in Canada, diversity and global connections are encouraged and celebrated.

Waterloo International welcomes the return of Ian Rowlands, PhD, associate vice-president, International.

Dr. Rowlands’ scholarly activities during his 2020 sabbatical focused on energy sustainability and internationalization in higher education; for the latter part of this work, he had an affiliation with the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) as a Special Advisor.

The University of Waterloo and the University of Strathclyde are jointly hosting a virtual research colloquium, expected to provide an interactive space for graduate students from the participating universities to present their research and receive constructive feedback from international scholars in their respective fields.

International Week 2020 is a collaborative effort, organized by a wide array of departments, units and student groups at the University of Waterloo, with coordination by Waterloo International. We hope you were able to attend some of the events, learn from these experiences or share some of your activities with others and that you enjoyed participating in these events!
