Plant Handbook

Healing Forest Plant Handbook

The University of Waterloo Healing Forest is home to a variety of plant and tree species. The following handbook explores thirteen Indigenous plant species found in the Healing Forest, including their distribution and traditional uses. You will notice that each plant profile displays one of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Canada’s 94 Calls to Action. We ask that after viewing this plant handbook, when you engage with any of the mentioned species, you think of the associated Call to Action and how you can help work towards its realization.
