Stochastic FEM Modelling and Global Sensitivity Analysis of the Middle-Ear Model

The middle-ear consists of several structures and it is known that there are variabilities in the mechanical and geometrical properties of these structures. These variabilities are due to the intrinsic nature of these structures. We will not be able to consider these variabilities in deterministic models. On the other hand, stochastic models make us able to study these variabilities and their effects on the predicted responses. In this project, we will provide a stochastic FEM model of human middle-ear. We consider having uncertainties in all mechanical properties and some geometrical properties of our model and study the effects of these uncertainties on the vibrational responses of the middle-ear. Moreover, we will use global sensitivity analysis techniques to study the effects of each of the parameters of the model on the responses as well as the interaction of these parameters with each other. More details about this project will be provided soon.
