The goal of the workshop is to initiate inter-Faculty, interdisciplinary research collaborations that address the 5 Global Futures which the University of Waterloo has identified in its Waterloo at 100 Strategic Vision to address the most pressing challenges for humanity and our planet. Aligned to our academic and research strengths, the 5 Global Futures reflect the many changes happening in our region, country and world: Economic Futures, Health Futures, Societal Futures, Sustainable Futures, and Technological Futures.
Faculty members from any of Waterloo’s 6 Faculties who are interested in exploiting data and computation for attacking their research problems related to the 5 Global Futures are invited to attend this research mash-up event with networking lunch. One of the main objectives is to facilitate formation of interdisciplinary teams to tackle challenging research problems where data and computation can help to obtain transformative research outcomes.
