Waterloo welcomed members of a French delegation to campus on April 25th to sign a new MOU with the National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (INRIA). The MOU outlines a new framework for expanding research collaboration between the University of Waterloo and France.

The 22-person delegation consisted of His Excellency Michel Miraillet, Ambassador of France for Canada, Sylvie Retailleau, Minister of Higher Education and Research (Government of France), Tudor Alexis, Consul-General of France in Toronto, Cécile Vigouroux, International Director for INRIA and senior representatives from various government departments and institutions.

They were welcomed by Charmaine Dean, VP-Research and International and Ian Rowlands, AVP-International. After the signing, the delegation toured the Quantum Nano Centre and the Institute for Quantum Computing after a series of presentations by the IQC, Cheriton School of Computer Science, WCI and WIN.

We look forward to this new pathway for collaboration on research with our French partners.
