An outbound delegation from the University of Waterloo, comprising Douglas Peers, Professor of History and former Dean at the Faculty of Arts, and Ishari Waduwara-Jayabahu, International Relations Manager, with responsibility for India, is in Delhi. They attended a two-day Vice Chancellor’s summit “Dynamics of Higher Education in India and Canada: Envisaging Greater Collaborations: Opportunities to Network” organized by the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, aimed at providing key opportunities to create institutional linkages. Professor Peers delivered a presentation outlining Waterloo’s renowned academic programs, world-leading co-operative education, teaching and research excellence, entrepreneurship and global stewardship, among other strengths. Fourteen Canadian institutions and 50 universities from India participated in the event, intended to create awareness of opportunities for academic and research collaborations and other partnerships between India and Canada.
