On November 13th and 14th, we hosted top Japanese University leaders for the "2018 Training Program for Top Management of University," funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Japan. The focus of their two-day agenda was to gain insight into university management and learn about co-operative education, entrepreneurship, technology transfer and commercialization, and international research.

Delegates from the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) vistied the University on Monday, October 29, 2018 to strengthen the existing partnership, explore student exchange and research potential in Life Science and Engineering; and to learn more about student innovation and entrepreneurship in UW.

On Monday, October 1, 2018, the Vice President of Research at Tsinghua University in China, Qi-kun Xue visited the University of Waterloo.  He also presemted a public lecture on Transformative Quantum Technologies entitled "Physics Beyond Ohm's Law." The objective of the delegation visit was to discuss collaborations on quantum sciences and quantum technology.

Visit of Wuhan University

On Monday October 1 and Tuesday October 2, 2018, the University of Waterloo welcomed delegates from Wuhan University (WHU) for a two-day visit.  The objective of the visit was to review existing 2+2 programs, discuss new work-plans, explore the possibility of a study abroad program, and discuss student innovation, entrepreneurship, and co-op education.

Visit from the University of Adelaide

On Wednesday, September 26, 2018 delegates from the University of Adelaide in Australia visted the university to learn about Cooperative Education, the Velocity Garage incubator, the Institute for Quantum Computer (IQC), and to discuss internationalization.
