Services

As a result of the Libraries’ budget review process, the following library services have been adjusted or discontinued:

  • Book return bins: the number of book return bins around campus has been consolidated from eighteen to five. The remaining book bins are South Campus Hall (SCH), BC Matthews Hall (BMH), Student Life Centre (SLC), Dana Porter Library and Davis Centre.
  • TUG changes: the van servicing University of Guelph Library, Wilfrid Laurier University Library, University of Waterloo Libraries and the Tri-University Group (TUG) Annex storage facility has reduced service levels from every weekday to twice per week. More information on Library News.
  • Library Hours: Building opening hours for Dana Porter Library and Davis Centre Library have changed for fall/winter term. See the full schedule.
  • Resource Sharing: The Libraries have joined OCLC’s SHARES program, which gives Waterloo preferential rates and access to the collections of partner institutions, allowing us to facilitate interlibrary loans more efficiently and effectively. More information on the SHARES program.
  • LibBot: The Libraries have introduced an automated chat service that operates 24/7 on the Libraries main website to support user queries, supplementing Ask Us reference services.
  • Musagetes deliveries: the van making deliveries to Musagetes Library has reduced service levels from every weekday to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule.

This list will continue to be updated as further changes are made.
