The University of Waterloo Library seeks a well-organized, collaborative and user focused Information Resource Coordinator. Reporting to the Head, Information Services & Resources, Dana Porter Library, the incumbent will be responsible for collection management project development and coordinate implementation, manage the department’s internal knowledge management tools, be the administrator for our LibGuides tool, and ensure accessibility compliance for both ISR departments. The IR Coordinator works with staff across other Library departments in these areas to development and implement best practices, provide training, and provide information service. The IR Coordinator undertakes assessment and usability activities as needed.
The Information Services & Resources (ISR) department supports the research, teaching, and learning on campus through their direct liaison work with researchers, departments, programs and schools. The ISR department is responsible for information literary teaching and learning, collection development and curation, information service delivery and consultations supporting the identification, organization and effective use of library resources and services for research.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Planning and coordinating, with other Library departments, regular and project-based collection maintenance and curation activities, and overseeing implementation
- Liaising with Collection Development department around new offers, upcoming deadlines, and undertaking assessment as needed for decision-making
- Managing currency and organization of ISR’s internal and external content on our information sharing, storage and collaboration tools
- Serving as LibGuides administrator
- Ensuring accessibility/AODA compliance of all ISR content (instructional and promotional materials, webpages etc.)
- Coordinating information and data gathering, analyzing, reporting and making recommendations in areas of responsibility as needed
- Providing information service to patrons and back up for information service scheduling

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education/experience
Experience
- Experience with collection maintenance and curation practices and tools
- Experience using workplace knowledge management and collaboration tools
- Experience providing accessible service
- Experience providing training or coaching and demonstrates a high degree of skill in providing training and training documentation for adult learners
- Experience finding, and synthesizing information and making recommendations
- Experience using library services and resources, preferably with experience working in an academic or public library setting
Knowledge/Skill/Abilities
- Proven ability to clearly and positively communicate complex concepts; excellent oral and written communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and good judgement, with a demonstrated ability to maintain respectful, and constructive working relationships across multiple levels and diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated aptitude for organization and planning with proven ability to develop and implement procedures, workflows and process improvements
- Knowledge of AODA and accessibility standards
- Knowledge of accessibility as it relates to online content and instruction
- Demonstrated aptitude for investigating and troubleshooting technical and process related issues
- Demonstrated ability in providing excellent customer service
- Proven ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to keep current in areas of responsibility
- Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make recommendations
Assets
- Experience using the Springshare LibAnswers platform and particularly LibGuides
- Experience with SharePoint and MS teams
- Experience creating and editing web content
- Experience with user experience testing
- Familiarity with adaptive technologies
- Familiarity with data visualization
Technical
- Experience with office software: MS Word (Intermediate); Excel (Intermediate); PowerPoint (Intermediate) and Adobe Creative Cloud (Intermediate)
Compensation:
The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications within the University Support Group (USG) level 6 salary. Hiring range: $48,376 - $60,471
