Karolina is a second-year PhD candidate in the Public Health Sciences program (Health Evaluation specialization) at the University of Waterloo, Faculty of Health. Her research interests focus on improving access to services for people with concurrent mental health and substance use issues by leveraging system- level evaluation, system mapping and machine learning to build tools to help predict risk and healthcare utilization. Karolina obtained her Bachelor of Health Sciences and MSc in Health Systems at the University of Ottawa (2013, 2016), and has since worked at several national and international non-profit and governmental organizations to deepen her knowledge and skills in qualitative and quantitative research, analysis, and evaluation design, approaches, and methods.
