PhD Candidate

I am a senior level healthcare executive currently engaged in completing my PhD through UWaterloo due to my desire to learn/apply research as a final area of interest in my career. I interested in public health policy – particularly the impacts of public measures on vulnerable populations during COVID-19. My research dissertation will focus on this area of interest and I am currently involved in a CIHR grant which will be the focus of my dissertation-The collateral effects of COVID-19 public health policies: Perspectives of people who use opioids and those closest to them using a patient-oriented research approach within a learning community framework. The research will use a patient orientated research (POR) approach within a learning community, which is part of the Learning Health System (LHS) and case study methodology. The purpose of the study is to conduct a retrospective policy analysis to determine the impacts of public health measures on the lived experience of PWUO and those closest to them, to inform macro level policy options with the intent of improving the quadruple aim plus equity during an emergency response.
