Manage Do Not Disturb Status When Screen Sharing
- Microsoft is introducing a new Teams feature that allows you to disable the automatic Do Not Disturb (DND) status during screen sharing. You must toggle the DND setting off to enable this feature.
- Traditionally, when screen sharing, Teams automatically switches your presence to DND during a call or meeting. While in DND mode, you do not receive notifications of calls, meetings, or chats, except from priority contacts.
- This is expected to be available from early June to early July 2024.
Group Chat Avatars
- You can now personalize your group chat image in Microsoft Teams.
- Group chat members can upload their own image or select a built-in image or emoji, to add a layer of inclusivity and expression to their chat as well as helping visually identity chats with similar titles or participants.
- This feature is currently available. For more information see Personalize your group chat image in Mircosoft Teams
Draggable Toolbar when Screen Sharing
- Microsoft Teams is introducing a new draggable Presenter Toolbar for screensharing, offering presenters more control and customization.
- When sharing content during a meeting, you can reposition the Presenter Toolbar from its default location at the top of the screen to any other area of the shared screen by moving it to the preferred position. The Presenter Toolbar can be dragged from any non-interactive area as well as from a new drag handle.
- The Presenter Toolbar will use minimum space by collapsing when not in use after a timeout of 4 seconds. When collapsed, a red badge showing the sharing status will still be visible to clearly indicate the ongoing sharing session.
- This will roll out in stages from early June to late July 2024.
Chat Notifications with Meeting RSVP
- You can now control how you receive notifications in meeting chats through RSVP to your meetings.
- Declining a meeting will result in no notifications or chats in the chat list, while accepting a meeting will result in notifications for all new messages.
- You will not receive notifications or see chats from meetings you declined. You will be able to set how you want to be notified for meetings you RSVP with Accept or Tentative from Microsoft Teams settings.
- Rollout will begin in early June 2024 to late July 2024.
Teams Meeting Recordings Now Saved to Organizer’s OneDrive
- Microsoft Teams meeting recordings will now be saved to the organizer's OneDrive by default.
- Previously, meeting recordings were saved to the OneDrive account of the person who initiated the recording.
- The rollout date is expected to be between early June and late August 2024.
