Visit the Beauty of Mathematics. There is even a page attempting a clickable Map of All of Mathematics! See a very nice collection of interesting topics in mathematics and physics.
Regarding the beauty of the universe, see the latest hubble images! This picture of tadpole galaxy, in particular, is one of the most impressive images I have ever seen. It shows the 420 million light years distant tadpole galaxy. In the background, one can see about 6,000 other galaxies. Some of them appear dozens of times smaller and are therefore much farther away. Since the universe is only about 13 billion years old, we are here seeing virtually as far back as to the light of the first galaxies. An actual movie of stars which orbit the central black hole in our galaxy is most impressive! The observations are explained on European Southern Observatory's (ESO's) website. See a very nice collection of cosmology links.
I am locally also connected with the following research groups:

The Interdisciplinary Coffee Talk Society
I used to organize an informal series of general interest talks across all disciplines. More recently, I have been very busy though and our usual schedule of about one talk per month during term has been interrupted - it takes some effort to twist people's arms into volunteering to give a talk! Traditionally, we have met Thursdays at 5:00 pm, in the upstairs seminar room of the Graduate House. Talks are meant to be understandable to non-experts and yet on a high level. Everybody who is interested is welcome. See our International Coffee Talk Society web page.
If you are volunteering an interesting talk, or if you know someone who might, please let me know and we can start things up again! By the way, I first started an interdisciplinary seminar series at Heidelberg University as a graduate student and then at Corpus Christi College of Cambridge University (as the Interdisciplinary Coffee Talk Society which became the Crosstalk Society) when I was a postdoctoral fellow.
