PhD candidate
Subject: Self-assemble of natural rubber latex with cationic modified polyvinyl alcohol
Develop synthetic protocols for metal containing supramolecular nanomaterials using organometallic small- and macro- molecular building blocks. The research involved organic and organometallic syntheses, self-assembly, and material engineering for versatile potential nanotechnology applications. The PhD research endowed new discoveries in the field of aggregation-induced functions including, aggregation-enhanced IR absorption (AEIRA), aggregation-induced emission (AIE) and aggregation-induced laser trapping, for metal-carbonyl building blocks.
Dr. Xiao-Song Wang graduated from East China University of Science and Technology in 1998 with a PhD degree in Polymer Materials and Science. After working in the University of Sussex and the University of Toronto as a postdoctoral research fellow, he received the Roberts Academic Award/RCUK Research Fellowship working at the University of Leeds in 2006.
Zhen Zhang is a joint PhD student in Wang's group and Sebe's lab at the University of Bordeaux. He is working on polymer modification of nanocrystalline cellulose.
Na Zhou joined Wang's group as a Master student in September 2014. She is working on synthesis and characterization of organometallic block copolymers
