Dr. Kai Cao

Former PhD candidate (2012-2016)

Born in Wuhan, China, Kai graduated from East China University of Science and Technology with a Master degree in Material Science and Engineering. He moved to Canada and joined Xiaosong Wang’s group in spring, 2012 as a PhD candidate.

Jin Liu

Former PhD visitor student (2013-2014)

Jin is a visiting PhD student with Dr Wang, working on metal-containing polymer synthesis using migration insertion polymerization. Her previous work involves modification of natural rubber latex and exploration of microcapsule for perfume.

2012.9-present
East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China
Materials science and technology
PhD candidate
Subject: Self-assemble of natural rubber latex with cationic modified polyvinyl alcohol

Dr. Nimer Murshid

PhD Chemistry (Nanotechnology)

PhD research

Develop synthetic protocols for metal containing supramolecular nanomaterials using organometallic small- and macro- molecular building blocks. The research involved organic and organometallic syntheses, self-assembly, and material engineering for versatile potential nanotechnology applications. The PhD research endowed new discoveries in the field of aggregation-induced functions including, aggregation-enhanced IR absorption (AEIRA), aggregation-induced emission (AIE) and aggregation-induced laser trapping, for metal-carbonyl building blocks.

Na Zhou

Former Master student (2014-2016)

Na Zhou joined Wang's group as a Master student in September 2014. She is working on synthesis and characterization of organometallic block copolymers
