Shanza is a Master's student in the Cheriton School of Computer Science co-supervised by professors Leah Zhang-Kennedy and Urs Hengartner, and a student member of the Cryptography, Security, and Privacy (CrySP) research group.
Previously, she was a student at LUMS (Lahore University of Management Sciences). She collaborated with CISPA's Usable Security group on a research project called "Threat Experiences and Security Practices of Pakistani Content Creators," led by Dr. Maryam Mustafa, Dr. Kathrina Khombohlz, and Dr. Elissa Redmiles. The research project shed light on the unique privacy and security challenges faced by content creators in regions like Pakistan.
Presently, Shanza is interested in tackling the pervasive lack of inclusivity and fairness in technology solutions. She strives to develop frameworks that prevent discriminatory behaviour in undereducated and non-weird communities that can make tech more usable and secure.
