On behalf of the SWIGS executive team, we want to extend a warm welcome to everyone stepping into a new academic year. Fall 2019 is going to be super busy, super productive and super fun!
For our new and returning students, here’s a short introduction. Students of the Water Institute Graduate Section or SWIGS is a dynamic group of University of Waterloo graduate students, supported by the Water Institute, looking to expand their networks and develop new skills in the water sector. If you are a graduate student doing research related to water, or a nature enthusiast looking to save the environment, or simply a curious individual looking to get involved in some cool stuff, this is just the place for you!
SWIGS provides a platform to share your ideas, participate in water related informative events and expand your knowledge about anything and everything related to water. The SWIGS Executive committee for 2019-2020 have exciting events lined up for you for Fall 2019. We are organizing workshops on Data management, R and GIS to help you get a leverage with your research work. We also have a nature walk planned so that you can enjoy the greenery before we hit the fall!
For more information, check out the events page on our website. We’re looking forward to meeting new people and making awesome connections!
