Biography

Alessio has been a Contract Academic Staff member in the Department of Italian and French Studies since May 1, 2024. He taught Understanding Modern Italy (ITALST 100) in the Spring 2024 term and is also now teaching this course in the Fall 2024 term. Alessio has previously worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Department of Italian and French Studies several times over the past few years. He is a PhD Candidate in Italian Studies at the University of Toronto, where he is working on a digital map of the locations featured in the literary works of Luigi Pirandello. His research areas include Italian Modernist Literature, Literary Geography, Italian Comics Studies and Detective Fiction.
