Biography

Gianmarco joined the Department of Italian and French Studies as a Contract Academic Staff member as of May 1, 2024. He taught ITAL 101: Introduction to Italian Language 1in the Spring 2024 term and is now teaching ITAL 201: Intermediate Italian 1 in the Fall 2024 term. Prior to this, Gianmarco has been a regular instructor at the University of Toronto, where he taught courses in Italian language and culture. He is also a teacher at the Italian Cultural Institute in Toronto, where he has been in charge of advanced language classes and the Italian Book Club since 2019. As a PhD candidate at the Centre for Comparative Literature at the University of Toronto, Gianmarco’s current research stands at the intersection of literary and visual studies, focusing on the study of photo-textual narratives, which he investigates through transmedia and translingual lenses.
