Session Description

Have you ever been asked the question: "So... what do you do?" Don't worry, Career Advisors are here to help! Communication is the #1 skill required in the workplace and beyond. Being able to effectively share information about yourself can make networking awesome, connect you with others or discover new opportunities. You'll never know where it can take you. In this 60 minute session, we will be discussing communication and its importance as it relates to skills, successes, and goals. You will craft your very own personal branding statement through a unique activity.

Presenter(s) 

Paulina Cisneros advises undergraduate students on résumé and cover letter writing, interview skills, job search strategies, and co-op process navigation. Paulina has experience in human resources and social services and has worked with extensively with newcomers to Canada and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre. Paulina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Minor in Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo, a post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management and an Occupational Health and Safety diploma from Conestoga College. She is currently studying a Master of Education at Wilfrid Laurier University. In her spare time, Paulina is an MC for various community events in Kitchener-Waterloo.

Eva Skuza provides individual career advisement sessions for students at any stage of the career development process. She assists students in exploring and clarifying career goals using an action-oriented approach through self-assessment, occupational research, decision making and self-marketing. Eva also facilitates customized career development workshops and provides support to co-op students preparing for their first work terms. Eva holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Waterloo along with a Diploma in Human Resources Management from Conestoga College. She is certified in MBTI and is currently pursuing her Career Development Practitioner certification. In her spare time, Eva travels around the world to discover new cheeses.
