Graham Seed Fund

The Graham Seed Fund is designed to broadly encourage innovative health-care solutions to challenges of today and tomorrow. The award amount is $25000. The second cycle of applications opens on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 and closes Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Centre for Bioengineering and Biotechnology Seed Funding

The CBB seed funding program supports multi-disciplinary research across faculties. There are $5,000, $10,000, and $15,000 awards. Applications are open now for Round 6 until January 6, 2023.

Quantum for Health Design Challenge

The Quantum for Health Design Challenge (Q4Health) by Transformative Quantum Technologies (TQT) searches for opportunities where quantum technology can advance health. This challenge is open to the entire University of Waterloo community, including undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, faculty and staff.

Q4Health invites teams to develop well-motivated, quantum-based ideas that can lead to innovation in health. The focus is on the impacts that new technologies can have. No prototype is required. Winning teams can receive up to $10,000. The application deadline is February 6, 2023.

Twente and Waterloo Strategic Collaboration Grants (SCG)

This is an open call to members of the Universities of Twente and Waterloo to submit – jointly – applications for Strategic Collaboration Grants (SCG). This seed funding would be of a modest amount (no more than the sum of C$16,000 and €11,000) for each Twente-Waterloo research project with a duration of no more than 24 months. The deadline for submitting complete applications is Wednesday, 8 November 2023 at 23:59 (Twente time) / 17:59 (Waterloo time).
