Waterloo's 2020-2025 Strategic Plan defines our multi-year institutional direction in pursuit of how Waterloo will work towards achieving our vision to connect imagination with impact. It is determined by our goals and driven by our values. This plan has been developed through an evidence-based consultative process.
The 2020-2025 strategic plan is a University-wide initiative, involving all six faculties, academic support units, operations, and all our stakeholder groups: students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The strategic planning process has three key components: development, implementation, and accountability. Implementation and accountability components overlap.
Implementation occurs largely through three action teams made up of functional leads relevant to the theme area and is implemented across the university, in close co-operation and partnership with each of the faculties.
Similarly, a structured process has been developed to monitor and guide progress. We produce update reports annually for governance and leadership. A selection of our indicators are reported on an internal website. Login is required to access the site.
Throughout the strategic planning process, we strive to communicate broadly with our community to share information, reflect, and celebrate progress.
