Marriage, Sexuality, and the Body from Anabaptist-Mennonite Perspectives
The Toronto Mennonite Theological Centre is hosting a one-day forum for academics, professionals in the field, ministers, and graduate students to gather together in order to present ideas, ask questions, and explore Anabaptist-Mennonite approaches to sexuality, marriage, and the body. Participation from a wide range of perspectives and disciplines is strongly encouraged.
Topics may include but are not limited to the following:
- Gender
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Queer and Questioning (LGBTQQ) sexualities
- Abuse
- Sexual ethics
- Reproduction and procreation
- Self-image
- Health
- Disability studies
- Body theology
- Medicine/medical ethics
- Torture (bare life/biopower and biopolitics)
- Care and counseling (pastoral, sociological, psychological perspectives etc.)
Send proposals of a maximum of 300 words by March 1, 2012 to mennonite.centre@utoronto.ca.
