Kushal achieved an Advanced Diploma in Automation and robotics technology from Centennial College (2007) and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from University of Ottawa (2012) before joining the master’s program at University of Waterloo. His multi-disciplinary background gives him wider perspective to challenges at hand.
The focus of Kushal’s research is to evaluate the safety of bicyclists on on-street cycling infrastructures in urban areas where cyclists share the road with the other traffic on regular basis. For his research Kushal developed a custom sensor array capable of measuring lateral distances between bicycles and overtaking vehicles.
