MSc student
Sahar is a master's candidate in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo. She completed her undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto.
Her graduate research explores the possibility of evaluating the performance of signalized intersections using transit Automatic vehicle location and Automatic passenger counting (AVL/APC) data. Sahar’s research focuses on estimating:
- Stopped delay at signalized intersections experienced by transit and general purpose vehicles
- The extent of the queue
Her proposed method uses archived data gathered by automatic vehicle location and automatic passenger count systems which transit agencies deploy on their fleet.
