Wenfu is a PhD student and his research focuses on short-term travel time prediction on freeways using Bluetooth detector data. Bluetooth technology is now gaining popularity in various transportation engineering fields, as it can provide cost-efficient, non-intrusive travel time information. The outputs of Wenfu’s research can help transportation management agencies develop better traffic control strategies and improve traffic operations as well as assisting travelers to make informed route choice decisions to minimize their travel time.
