The AI Revolution: A Layperson's Guide Friday, April 11, 12:00 noon

Information about Artificial Intelligence (AI) is everywhere, but the knowledge to navigate the AI revolution is less plentiful. We know that AI is transformative. Applications in medicine are poised to save lives. Elsewhere, AI promises to automate repetitive tasks and help with problem-solving. But just as it holds great promise, there are ethical dilemmas, threats to jobs, and privacy concerns, among many other issues. How do we make sense of it all?

Experts include:

  • Mark Humphries, Professor of History at Laurier and the Tri-U
  • Jason Shim, the Chief Digital Officer for the Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience (CCNDR)
  • Byron Williston, Professor of Philosophy at Laurier.

Attend in-person (address and map below) or register for the Zoom livestream.

A light lunch will be served for those who attend in person.
