Raymond Li is a PhD student. His research field lies in the history of Northeast Asia, modern East Asia history and the history of ideology, especially for the spread and development of nationalism and feminism in Northeast Asia since the beginning of the twentieth century. Outside of academics, Raymond enjoys working out, playing basketball, and occasionally playing the piano. He likes to go diving in tropical areas during long holidays and may also expand to cold waters in the future.

Kess Carpenter is a PhD Candidate. They are particularly interested in social, cultural, and gender history. Their research investigates the significance of pornography in culture, and in the lives of those who consumed it, during the Cold War in North America. Kess enjoys spending time with their dog Clementine, birdwatching, antiquing, and playing guitar.

Vera Zoricic is a second-year PhD student studying under the supervision of Dr. Ian Milligan. Her research topic focuses on the digitization of the black freedom struggles during the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. She is particularly interested in how the issues of race, class, and gender intersect to shape individual and group experiences in Canada and the United States. Vera enjoys gardening and baking in her free time.

Jake McIvor is an MA student. He returned to Guelph after other adventures and is enrolled in the Collaborative Specialisation of Gender, Sexuality, and Bodies. His research focuses on critical masculinity studies in relation to climate change and geoengineering.

Catherine Ramey is a PhD Candidate. She researches the gendering of the curricula in Canadian missionary schools in Angola between 1880 and 1920. In particular, she focuses on the mission stations run by the Canadian Congregational Foreign Missionary Society. Outside of academia, Catherine enjoys gardening, playing piano, and reading historical fantasy.

Christos Floros studies Cold War sports history at the University of Guelph. His doctoral research examines the connection between basketball successes and the cultural evolution of societies in Southeastern Europe during the late 1980s and the early 1990s. Christos enjoys travelling, watching documentaries, and playing poker.

Michelle Johnston studies 20th Century American social and cultural history at Wilfrid Laurier University. Her dissertation is about death in the history of Rock and Roll. Outside of work, she also enjoys live music, dinners with friends, and Nintendo.

Mallory Davies studies Canadian history, history of education, family and gender history at the University of Waterloo. Her doctoral research examines teen mothers’ integration into public education from the 1970s to the present in Canada. Mallory likes to crochet, read across a variety of genres, test out pie recipes, and spending time outdoors.
