Cat/Matthew obtained their BA (Honours) in History at the University of Toronto with a minor in Sociology and HPS. They're interested in sensory history, the role that the senses play in the construction of how history is recorded and studied, and how the roles of the senses intersect with one another to create a sense of space and identity in the historical context. Their MRP research topic looks at the multi-sensory accounts of transatlantic travel in the Early Modern Period, with an emphasis on Iceland, England and Scotland.
