Rachel was drawn inexorably into early modern European history while an English major at the University of Waterloo, returning now to Waterloo to work on a thesis in History. She is interested in rhetoric, gender, and communal identity formation in early modern religious communities. If she had multiple lives, she would also research the early modern life cycle and Erasmus’s pedagogical writings. When not thinking about the humility trope in women’s writing, she dabbles in short-lived hobbies and dreams about how to support Waterloo Region’s seniors with greater compassion and humour in community day programs. Rachel intends to complete a thesis.
