Dr. Eva Anagnostou-Laoutides is Associate Professor in the School of Humanities at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. Her research explores political authority, dynastic legitimacy, and ruler representation across the Hellenistic world and Late Antiquity, with particular emphasis on the Seleukid and Ptolemaic kingdoms.

Her scholarship is interdisciplinary, examining the intersections of ancient history, philosophy, literature, and religion. Current research focuses on the ancient Near East, royal ideology, Seleukid kingship, Plato and Platonic traditions, the symposium, gender and power, and the reception of classical thought in early Christianity and later intellectual traditions.

Dr. Anagnostou-Laoutides has led and contributed to numerous international research projects and has published extensively on Hellenistic political culture, leadership, imperial discourse, and the reception of Greek philosophy. She continues to play an active role in collaborative international research on the ancient Mediterranean.
