Invest in the WIHS
Since its founding, the Waterloo Institute for Hellenistic Studies has achieved international renown for the quality of its research and the expertise of its faculty members. It is this reputation which continues to attract other world-class scholars to Waterloo, to share their knowledge with our faculty, students, research associates, and the interested public, deepening our understanding of this pivotal time in history and promoting Waterloo’s leading role in a key area of the humanities. With public and private philanthropic support, we can grow our community of research experts, and enhance our financial resources to provide even more opportunities to come together and share the stories of this key point in world history, science, thought and culture.
The impact of your gift
A member of our volunteer Advisory Board has presented WIHS with a tremendous opportunity. The Member made a commitment of $100,000 to our Directors Fund, contingent on the Institute securing matching funds. To help us achieve success, raising the additional $100,000 to meet the challenge, we hope you will consider joining with us and making a gift in support of this challenge. The Director’s Fund provides critical operating support required to fund the on-going activities of the Institute. Gifts to the Director’s Fund will allow the WIHS to respond to new opportunities and potential challenges while ensuring smooth operations overall. The support provided by the fund will enable our scholars to focus on their research projects and commitment to students as well as help fund activities such as: conference and workshop support, publication subsidies, matching funds for research applications and operational support.
