MASc Candidate (Jul 2026 - Aug 2028)
Hi, my name is Kulsum Ali, and I am a MASc candidate in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo, working with the Waterloo Microfluidics Lab. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Waterloo and previously worked with the Waterloo Microfluidics Lab as both a co-op student and undergraduate research assistant, where I contributed to projects involving protein fractionation and biosensor development for anastomotic leakage detection. My current research builds on my capstone project, which focused on developing a point-of-care device for detecting ESBL-driven antibiotic resistance.
