Individual typing on their laptop

This certificate is designed to provide you with exposure to many of the core software packages in the Microsoft Office Suite. For each software package you choose which level of learning is appropriate for you – introduction, intermediate, or advanced.

Certificate requirements

Complete four courses, choosing one from each software package. Each must be MS Office 2010 or newer and you cannot take two courses for the same software package (i.e. Introduction to Excel and Intermediate Excel).

* MS Office 2010 or newer. Only one version of each course can be included.

Note: All courses must be taken through Professional Development at the University of Waterloo in order to be eligible for the certificate from Professional Development.

Each course is six weeks long, followed by a two-week period to complete the final exam (online, open book) and you are not required to be online at any specific time. Lessons are released on Wednesdays and Fridays of each week. For planning purposes we suggest setting aside two hour per lesson as a starting point.

To register, click the course links above and select a start date. Instructions on how to access your course will be emailed to you immediately after registration. It is best practice to enrol for no more than two courses with the same start date to achieve the highest learning outcome.
