How to talk to Strangers Reaching out and connecting with total strangers about career stuff can be totally nerve-wracking and awkward. In this workshop we will abandon traditional ideas of “networking” and talk about connecting to other people as people. We will explore reasons to connect with others, some of the challenges you might face (e.g. anxiety, nerves, imposter syndrome, etc.), and give you tips and connect you with resources for navigating talking to strangers about career stuff in a new way. |

Personal Branding and Elevating your LinkedIn Have you ever heard someone say, "that's on brand of you," in an informal conversation? What if a certain 'brand' of yours can ensure your success in the employment process? Personal branding is a useful tool to take agency over how your skills, experiences, and ambitions are defined and highlighted to potential employees. We will discuss the importance of personal branding, especially through platforms like LinkedIn, and its relation to articulating one's skills, successes and goals. You will have a chance to craft your own personal branding statements and reflect on your talents through a series of unique activities. |
