Volunteering

Women in Engineering hosts many events throughout the Fall, Winter and Spring terms and are always looking for eager volunteers for both our outreach (youth) and University level events. Volunteers can be current undergraduate or graduate engineering students who identify as women or non-binary.

See below for events we are currently recruiting volunteers for.

University-level Events

Interested in helping the undergraduate women in  engineering committee with some of their events? Please email wie@engsoc.uwaterloo.ca to express interest in volunteering.

National Day of Remembrance (December 6th) Volunteering

The Faculty of Engineering is hosting a ceremony and moment of silence observing Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women on December 6th, 2024. Canada changed forever on December 6, 1989, when 14 women were murdered in a gender-based act of violence at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal.

We are currently looking for volunteers to participate in this memorial service. Volunteers will read the names of one of the 14 women murdered and light a candle in their honour. We will also need a volunteer to represent the injured and families. The time of the event is to be determined.

Youth Events

Engineering Outreach is recruiting volunteers for the following WiE youth events for Fall 2024. If you are interested, please fill out the form below with your information and the event(s) you are available and interested in helping with.
