Fall 2023 Panel Discussions

WiM organized a series of two-panel discussions spanning two days, catering to both undergraduate and graduate students. On November 1, the WiM graduate committee held an Academic Applications panel, providing valuable insights on scholarship applications like NSERC and OGS, as well as guidance on job applications. Then, on November 2, the WiM undergraduate committee presented a Time Management panel, offering expert advice on effective study strategies, time management, and tips for a successful co-op search.

Fall 2023 Welcome Party

WiM hosted two welcome parties to welcome the incoming undergraduate and graduate Math students. We heard from Dean Mark Giesbrecht, WiM Director Yu-Ru Liu, WiCS Director Jo Atlee, and other Math administrators and faculty members.

2023 International Women in Mathematics Day

Celebrating  International Women in Mathematics Day, WiM hosted an enlightening discussion led by Hilary Bergsieker exploring the impacts of gender stereotypes and the various ways women are excluded from STEM Social Networks. 

Winter 2023 DRP Presentations

2023 Women's History Month Mixer

In a collaboration across WiM, WiSTEM, FemPhys, WICS, WiH, and WiE, we held a Women's History Month Mixer to celebrate all the amazing women at our institution. We had many treats scuh as subway, cookies, and bubble tea, as well as boardgames!

2023 Navigating Your PhD Workshop

Maliha Ahmed planned an impactful 2-day workshop to help graduate students get the most from their graduate program. This consisted of a Keynote talk by Sarah Hayes-Tang from the University of Toronto, several workshops and career panels!

2023 International Women's Day

On March 8th 2023, WiM and WiCS held a poker and chess night to encourage women to join in these male-dominated games. Attendees learnt how to apply the skills used in these games to their life and career.


2017 Chocolate Fountain Event

This event was held in September to celebrate the start of the term and give students the opportunity to meet other students.
