Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math logo

Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (WiSTEM) is offering free self-defence classes for women and trans-people in STEM. The course consists of a two hour class focusing on escape tactics, including physical and verbal techniques catered to women’s strengths. Participants will also engage in a healthy discussion about views and laws of sexual harassment with representatives from WPIRG. The course is taught by certified instructors who are part of the UWaterloo Karate and Jujitsu Club. Come out to learn some self-defence, gain confidence, and network with other women in STEM fields!
