Google is committed to empowering all women by connecting, developing, and fostering a sense of community amongst women in tech. Come build that community and conversation with us!

Join us for a special Women in Tech Panel hosted by UWaterloo Women in Math, with leading women at Google (each UWaterloo alumnae). We'll share why we're empowering Googlers to address unconscious bias, imposter syndrome, and how we're encouraging all Googlers to celebrate diversity and inclusion in everything we do.

We hope you can join us on Monday, June 25th at 4:30 pm in E2 2350 for a Sexism Response Workshop provided by Women in Computer Science, HeForShe in Engineering and HeforShe in Math.

Registration is NOT required. FREE food will be provided.

Identify challenges that international students face. Learn techniques to make your classroom benefit from diverse student base.

Discuss teaching strategies to build an environment better suited for international students.

WHAT I WISH I KNEW THEN...

Hear from upper year students and first year instructors!

Female undergrad and grad students are invited with fellow students and professors.

Complimentary snacks will be provided.  Female-identifying math students welcome.

Welcome our new female grad students, post docs, and faculty. Build your connections over drinks, fruit, games, and a chocolate fountain.

Grad students, post-docs, and faculty, who identify as female or any under-represented gender in math/CS, are welcome.

Women in Mathematics Presents...

The workshop focuses on strategies for responding constructively to micro aggressions and biases. If you’ve ever been told that you only got into your program "because you're a girl”, or you’re sick of being called the "diversity hire" without a witty retort in mind, this workshop is for you! We’ll be covering response strategies that you can use every day -- whether you are the target of a sexist comment or a bystander. This will be an interactive workshop, with lots of group discussion of different scenarios in different contexts.
