Abstract
What is a mathematical proof? The concept of mathematical proof has evolved in the millennia since mathematics has existed as a discipline. We will give a brief overview of the history of mathematical proofs, explain their purpose and construction, and give one possible interpretation of the question that is widely accepted among mathematicians today.
