Now that the new term has started, our four co-op students have arrived and are ready to help out at drop-ins and appointments! Learn more about our new co-op students.
Clara
Hello! My name is Clara, and I am one of your Peer Tutors for the Writing Centre this term. I’m currently a fourth-year student studying Honours Geography and Environmental Management.
The last few years as an undergraduate student granted me many privileges that made me feel at home on the Waterloo campus and around the world. I was involved with the Waterloo Association of Geography Students in my first and second year, working with the executive committee to deliver fun events for geography students. I am also an active violinist at the orchestra@uwaterloo, working with talented musicians all around the school as concert master, section leader, and dedicated player to give great concerts every term. In my spare time, I do a lot of freelance writing, and I read a lot too. I also tutor music and theory around my home community, and every Saturday afternoon, I tutor English classes at a private school program for elementary and beginning secondary students. My previous co-op terms led me to working in Toronto and, just recently, Beijing. Being here at Waterloo for my last co-op really brought everything full circle.
I will be around at the Davis Centre and Dana Porter libraries if ever you want to drop by and say hi! I’m very excited to work with you, and I hope to learn a lot from this experience too.
Sana
Simon
Hello all, my name is Simon. I am excited to be one of the Co-op Peer Tutors for Fall 2018! In addition to being available during drop-ins and appointments, I also run the #ThursdayTips on the Writing Centre’s social media accounts.
I am a 4A student pursuing a double degree in Political Science and Philosophy, and especially enjoy studying the intersection of those two areas. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching soccer, playing a casual game of chess, and getting involved in student-run extracurricular activities.
I hope to see you at the Dana Porter and Davis Centre libraries, and help you with all your writing needs!
Taimoor
Hi everyone! My name is Taimoor, and I am an undergraduate co-op student working to help students improve their writing at the Writing and Communication Centre this semester. I am part of the Health Studies program within the Applied Health Sciences Faculty and have had my fair share of written assignments, so don’t be afraid to ask for help. You can often find me at the drop-ins at the Davis Centre or Dana Porter libraries. On social media, I run the #MailMondays where we try to take questions that you ask and post responses to help us all become better writers.
On a more personal level, some of my interests and hobbies include reading fiction novels, playing guitar, watching almost any genre of film, and playing basketball. I hope to see you guys at the drop-ins and look forward to seeing some great writing!
