Bio

Sinem's English language teaching (ELT) journey began at a teacher training high school and culminated in her Ph.D. in teaching. With nearly 15 years of experience, she has taught and conducted research at universities in Ireland, Turkey, and Canada.

She holds a Ph.D. focusing on International Students’ Culture Shock, Second Language Pragmalinguistic Change, and Social Identity Relations, an M.A. in ELT specializing in reflective teaching, and a B.Ed. in Foreign Language Education.

After arriving in Canada, Sinem joined Renison University College, English Language Institute as an instructor, teaching academic skills courses, conducting research, and supporting international students as they adapt to university life academically.

Sinem excels in communicating complex ideas and collaborating with diverse communities. She is fluent in English and Turkish.
