Black and yellow writing on white backgorund says # Waterloo Writes: Write with peers in your own discipline
If writing from home makes it difficult for you to focus or find motivation, consider joining a #WaterlooWrites group! These virtual “show up and write” groups for graduate students (postdocs and faculty are welcome, too!) can help you build structure into your day and find a community of other writers.

The groups are facilitated and hosted by volunteers and offer an opportunity to write with peers, discuss the challenges and successes of writing about your research, and learn new writing tips each week.

#WaterlooWrites groups meet on Teams. Register to join as many groups as you’d like using this form and then download a digital #WaterlooWrites incentive card. Each time you show up online and write with your writing group, you'll earn a “stamp” on your card. Fill up your card with 12 “stamps” to receive a #WaterlooWrites coffee mug to show off your dedication and fuel future writing sessions!

If you’re looking to make a real commitment to your writing practice this term, consider becoming a volunteer writing group host! Existing #WaterlooWrites groups are looking for additional hosts, or you can start a new group with your peers. To find out more about hosting, email nadine.fladd@uwaterloo.ca.
