Amanda has nearly 20 years of cross-cultural experience as an English teacher and writing advisor. A Brazilian national, Amanda holds a Bachelor of Law from the Faculdade de Direito de Santa Maria and a double Bachelor of Education in English and Portuguese Language from Universidade Franciscana.

After moving to Canada, Amanda joined the writing centre at King’s University College, and obtained her master’s in Library and Information Science at Western University. She worked as a Public Librarian for four years before joining the WCC, where she now works with students and faculty to develop, implement, and deliver online and in person programming. She also facilitates the centre’s English Conversation Circles and helps undergraduate and graduate students in all phases of their writing projects. She speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
