Manager, Undergraduate and Peer Tutor Programs (on leave)
Headshot of Masa Torbica. She has long dark hair and dark eyes. She is wearing a white jacket and black top, and is smiling at the camera.

Maša has over ten years of experience teaching undergraduate writing and communication courses, recognized by three teaching awards (from University of Waterloo’s Centre for Teaching Excellence, Department of English Language and Literature, and Faculty of Arts). As Manager of Undergraduate Student and Peer Tutor Programs she develops and implements programs for undergraduate students and leads the WCC’s dynamic team of graduate, undergraduate, and Arts First peer tutors. In appointments, Maša empowers students to meet their writing and communication goals by building upon existing skills and by developing productive and sustainable writing habits. Given her academic training in rhetoric (the art of persuasion), Maša is particularly enthusiastic about supporting students to brainstorm, draft, and refine compelling materials for work, school, and scholarship applications.

Maša holds a PhD in English Language and Literature from the University of Waterloo. Her research interests include rhetoric and composition, research-creation, and decolonial pedagogies.
