The Rapid Prototyping Centre provides high quality 3D printing, circuit board manufacturing, and laser cutting to students, staff and faculty, with a focus on undergraduate students and design teams at the University of Waterloo.

3D Printing

Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Manufacturing

  • Tabletop PCB milling and drilling machine, along with via through-plating machine in order to create PCBs of one to two layers
  • At cost production
  • 4 day turn around time

Laser Cutting

  • CO2 laser with 28" x 40" cutting bed
  • Completely free cutting service, just bring your material to E5 2002
  • Materials available for purchase at the E3 machine shop and RigidWare in E7
  • Capable of cutting up to 3/8" acrylic, 1/2" plywood, and various fiberboards
