At the end of April, we celebrated one of our most prominent champions – Chancellor Dominic Barton – who will conclude his tenure on June 30 after six years of leadership. It was a privilege to bring together so many global change makers to recognize Dominic’s contributions to Waterloo.

New funding will create scholarships to enable talented Black students to attend Waterloo with significantly reduced financial barriers.

On Tuesday, July 4, University of Waterloo President & Vice-Chancellor Vivek Goel emailed UWaterloo alumni asking them to reflect on the horrific hate-filled attack that occurred on June 28 in Hagey Hall. Dr. Goel shared his shared his appreciation for everyone who has come together to provide support to as our community begins the process of healing.
On Wednesday, June 28, an attack targeting our people on the basis of a hateful view of gender expression and identity occurred on our main campus in Hagey Hall during a second-year lecture for Philosophy 202 – Gender Studies.

Yesterday our community was confronted by violence through a shocking attack that occurred on the University of Waterloo’s main campus.
This month, thousands of Waterloo Warriors will cross the stage at the Physical Activities Complex (PAC) to receive their degrees at our spring Convocation. As Vice-President, Advancement, I'm honoured to celebrate this milestone with our newest alumni. There is much excitement on this day, and I feel privileged to be part of it.
